Alpha 3 Update


Due to some outside factors this update took a bit longer, and ended up not containing some of the new features I originally planned. Still progress has been made, although a few place holder images are still being used for some of the races, they do at least exist and should have working bonuses. Instead of improving the espionage system I ended up working on the Diplomacy system and began to improve the combat system. 

New Features:

  • Expanded the diplomacy system
    • it is now possible to trade tech and money with both AI and players
    • A new screen shows up when meeting with other players, and has a few basic options, such as declare war and trade
    • AI will decline trade deals that they deem unfair or any deal that does not include a peace treaty if you are at war with them
  • The save system has begun to be overhauled, now allowing an infinite number of saves
  • Large ships now have missiles which can be used at the start of their turn
  • Game now contains 8 different playable races 
    • at the moment some still use a place holder image and text, but others have custom pictures made (no animations yet)
  • Both single and multiplayer now have new startup options and screens, allowing players to pick a race, colour, leader name, and a home world name when setting up the game
  • The custom music option has been improved, allowing players to add mp3 files too a folder to use instead of the built in music
  • The side panel planets now better represent the planet type they are supposed to be
  • Added 3 new types of planets including one super rare one
  • Planets can now have a bonus to tech research bonus
  • It is now possible to turn on the AI in combat
  • Redid the colony popup screen, adding pictures of the planets along with information about the planet *also fixes a bug if the colony planet question came up during combat=

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed multiple bugs which would cause the game to soft-lock when in ship combat while in multiplayer
  • Fixed multiple bugs that would cause desync issues in multiplayer
  • Fixed a bug with purchasing ships not showing up
  • Fixed a bug where planets would use the wrong players money after reloading the game
  • Fixed a bug where incorrect names would be displayed over planets
  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to exploit the relocate population button 
  • Fixed a bug that caused issues with Research points resetting
  • Fixed technology unlocks being delayed by a turn
  • Fixed the sidepanel displaying outdated information
  • Fixed sliders randomly setting themselves to only produce tech on a planet
  • Fixed the only graph currently implemented from displaying incorrect information
  • Fixed some issues with the buildings menu acting weird in multiplayer
  • Fixed a lot of sync issues in multiplayer
