Zirka Dominus
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
In this strategic game, players control a space-faring civilization seeking to explore, colonize, and conquer the galaxy. Unlike traditional FTL methods, ships utilize Skip Drives to travel vast distances in a short period, revolutionizing interstellar exploration and warfare. This allows players to go to any star that has been discovered in 4 turns, no matter how close or far away their destination is. Basically its like a worm hole, but it can only be used when far away from a solar system which is why it takes 4 turns. Most other aspects are similar to Master of Orion 1 at the moment, but I do have plans for more additional features and changes that will help differentiate the game.
Some other differences that have been implemented include the ability to create buildings on planets and clone armies. Clone armies have their own population cap, but do require a technology and building to unlock (still a bit of a WIP).
Most buildings and technologies are basically just place holders for use with the current version. I have a much larger tech tree planned, but I create a more simple version based on what is currently implemented into the game. That way anyone playing it today won't have to waste a bunch of production on unlocking useless technologies. Some are just simplified versions of planned techs, such as the terraforming which just adds more population cap rather than the actual plans which will allow for upgrading planets too different types.
This project is still in early development. Online or LAN Multiplayer is experimental and not fully tested yet. Saving and Loading should mostly work as expected, but there is no guarantee at the moment that everything will save properly.
At some point the save system will be upgraded with unlimited save slots. Ship combat works, but will likely be massively overhauled before the full release as it is very basic at the moment.
This is a work in progress and is missing many features that will be in the final game. Many features are missing or underdeveloped at the moment.
I will try and post an update at the start of every month as I continue to work on it.
